Varme hotdogs på Nordpolen

ersonal Learning Environments? Yes, of course! By expanding the mothership or docking the dorm.

Looking at the debates and research about how web 2.0 technologies should be integrated in university teaching practice and what technologies students should use for learning, a disagreement between the people in favour of an extensive use of external web 2.0 technologies and the people in favour of using an institutionalised VLE as the main…

The first day of class is approaching… what will you do?

THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE FIRST 5 MINUTES OF A MOVIE OR THE FIRST CHAPTER OF A BOOK: IF THE TONE IS NOT SET RIGHT, WHO WILL FEEL MOTIVATED TO READ ON, WATCH THE MOVIE UNTIL ITS END, OR STAY FOR THE ENTIRE COURSE? UNFORTUNATELY IN MANY CASES THE FIRST LECTURE OR PRESENTATION OF A COURSE IS REDUCED TO SHARING THE COURSE…

14 - We humans are merely soulless meat and computations

Science is driven by curiosity and wonder. But science also gives rise to new ideas to question and wonder about, such as whether there in effect is anything that sets humans apart as a species – or even as an entity.

Craig Venter is one of the world's leading scientists and has been listed by both Time magazine and New Statesman as one of the world's most influential people - with good reason. Photo: Janne Hansen

Mobile Learning is In – but, honestly, what is it? Take-away learning or gadget addiction?

One of the major topics of this year’s EdMedia conference was mobile learning (also referred to as mlearning). The topic was addressed through several presentations and in the keynote speech ‘Mobile Learning Revolution: Implications for Pedagogy’ by Agnes Kukulska-Hulme from Open University, UK. Undoubtedly, this is a hot topic; a lot of…
