Niels Damgaard Hansen has had a limited tenure as administration centre manager, initially at the former Faculty of Science and subsequently at ST since 2008, and his present appointment expires on 31 January 2017. His position was therefore advertised in autumn, and a normal hiring process was carried out.

Based on a recommendation from the appointment committee, Dean Niels Chr. Nielsen and University Director Arnold Boon offered Niels Damgaard Hansen a new limited tenure for five years with the option of extending for a further three years.

“I’m pleased that Niels Damgaard will continue to spearhead the Administration Centre ST. It’s important that the administrative support at the faculty is good and well run, and Niels is the right person to ensure this will continue,” says the dean.

University Director Arnold Boon is also pleased that Niels Damgaard is taking another stint in office.

“With his warm manner, Niels is extremely well liked among both staff and management. The work he’s done during the more than eight years he’s held the position shows that he’s also a very competent leader and a valuable partner, especially in the administration’s management group. He understands how to build bridges between the administration and academic environments, and I can’t think of a better candidate than Niels to continue the work in progress,” says the university director.

Following the major reorganisation at Aarhus University in 2011 and 2014, the administration centre manager must focus in the time ahead on ensuring a professional, stable and efficient solution of the task in a situation where significant demands have been imposed on the administrative area as regards efficiency improvements and savings.

The Administration Centre ST consists of approximately 380 members of staff covering the areas Finance, HR, Estates Facilities, Studies Administration, IT, Communication, and a small secretariat.
