Excellent research

Science and Technology is internationally recognised as a strong and research-intensive faculty within the scientific and technical fields. We deliver high-quality research, and our research results are at the highest national and international standards within many fields of study.

Research at Science and Technology spans a wide range of disciplines, from the classical science subjects to agriculture, the environment and a vast number of engineering disciplines. The faculty also has a strong, long-standing tradition of interdisciplinary research, and this has formed the basis for several ground-breaking research results.

The cornerstone of research at the faculty comprises deep basic scientific research and interdisciplinary breadth in the sciences, technological innovation and applied research within engineering, as well as extensive and in-depth experience in providing research-based public-sector consultancy to benefit society.

Collaboration to benefit society

We exploit the unique opportunities inherent in the interaction between our academic strongholds through the interdisciplinary theme-based research centres working across traditional disciplinary boundaries, with focus on developing research-based technologies and solutions to societal challenges.

Science and Technology aims to ensure that society can access and benefit from the faculty's research. This is through business collaboration via the thematic centres and through a wide range of other business partnerships and strategic partnerships with companies, both nationally and internationally. Together with our partners in industry and the business community, through joint research projects we focus on developing solutions in a global perspective.

Internationally recognised researchers

Science and Technology is a strong international partner, and faculty researchers take part in research partnerships throughout the world. We are part of the absolute international elite within several fields of research, creating ground-breaking new research results. Several faculty researchers are among the most cited in the world within their field.

Research at Science and Technology is based in 12 departments and a department-like centre as well as a large number of centres comprising highly specialised centres of excellence supported by the Danish National Research Foundation, other major research centres financed by, among others, the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Villum Foundation, as well as interdisciplinary and cross-faculty centres.
